Actually, you're paired up against your partner. Both of you create a short mini-amv (or beta~) and submit it. Then Alice and I judge both of them, and choose a winner between the two of you. The winner goes on to the next round, and is then paired up against someone else who won the first round.

Do you have to start at the same point of the song as your partner? like if they start from the start you have to aswell?

Nope. You can start at any part of the song, and it doesn't have to be the same as your partner.
